The Flowers Bloomed

Leaves, amber,
amidst ashes, grey;
Love, fragile,
amidst men, gay.

The price of healthier skin,
is losing your face;
the price of purer love,
is for your pride to erase.

Too man, too woman,
to breakdown and cry,
too naïve and arrogant,
not to bid you goodbye.

There are, and always will be people that come into your life, in whatever capacity, that try to change you, thinking that they know what’s best for you. It could be a friend, or a parent, or a lover; criticism and conformity takes many a form and skin. However, it’s wise to remind yourself that you are the only one that you should answer to, and if the change that these people push you toward hurts you on a fundamental or spiritual level, it’s not good change.
Let no one hold the reigns on your life, and mould you into some version of you they’d rather see; because, the truth is, without your true authentic self, you are nothing but a mirror for people to hold out and look at their own reflections.
The good people stay, and the ones with malice in their hearts weed away. Stay strong, and live large; large and unapologetically.
